Railroad with fall foliage - Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge, Massachusetts

In the midst of a lackluster fall foliage season in New England, I encountered this railroad on a short afternoon hike. The autumn colors weren't as vibrant as they were in past years, but I thought the splash of color balanced by the green pines was a nice element to the scene. This was the longest stretch of railroad I've ever personally seen, spanning almost 2 miles in a straight line. To capture the length of the tracks, I decided to use the vertical panorama format, allowing the railroad to extend deep into the distance.
