Misty light in the D. Blakeley Hoar Sanctuary - Brookline, Massachusetts

A walk in some local open space uncovered this magical scene on a wet, overcast day. The carpet of pine needles were a perfect contrast to the lush green moss and leaves, boasting bold colors after some recent rain. Alone in the woods, I carefully composed the image to the soundtrack of a screech owl trilling from a tree behind me. To find a scene like this so close to Boston was an unexpected experience.
